Who this policy covers
This policy applies to www.onlinelearning.my and to the enquiry forms on it. It explains what we collect, why, who sees it and what you can ask us to do with it. By using this website or submitting a form, you accept the practices described here.
What we collect
We only collect what you type into a form, plus a small amount of technical information that every website receives.
- Details you enter: your name, WhatsApp number, email address where given, your child's year and school stream where given, your state or area, occupation and availability on the agent form, and anything you write in a message field.
- The page the form was submitted from, and the date and time.
- Standard technical data your browser sends, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested.
What we do not collect
We do not ask for identity card numbers, bank details, card numbers or passwords anywhere on this website. If you ever see a page on this domain asking for those, do not complete it and tell us.
Why we collect it
To answer your enquiry, to follow it up once, and to arrange programme access if you decide to go ahead. We do not sell your details, we do not rent them, and we do not pass them to unrelated third parties for their own marketing.
Your consent
Submitting a form is how you consent to us using your details for the purposes above. You can withdraw that consent at any time by contacting us, and we will stop using your details and delete them unless we are required to keep them.
Who your information is shared with
Only the parties needed to answer you or to set up access.
- The people who run this website and reply to enquiries.
- Service providers that operate the site and our messaging, such as our web host, our email provider and WhatsApp.
- The third-party provider that operates the learning programme, but only where your enquiry results in programme access, and only the details needed to create that access.
- Any authority we are legally required to disclose to.
Information handled outside Malaysia
Some of the service providers above may store or process data on servers outside Malaysia. Where that happens we take reasonable steps to ensure the information is protected to a standard consistent with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010.
How long we keep it
For as long as it is needed to deal with your enquiry and any customer relationship that results from it, and after that for only as long as we are required to. Ask us to delete your details and we will, unless the law requires us to keep them.
Security
This website is served over an encrypted connection and the forms are protected against automated abuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so while we take reasonable steps to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
This website uses cookies and similar technologies for two purposes, and it is worth being clear about the difference between them.
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics to see which pages are read, how people arrive and how the site performs. This tells us about pages and visits rather than about you by name.
- Advertising. We may run advertisements on platforms such as Facebook and Instagram, and we may use their measurement tools on this website to see which adverts lead to an enquiry, and to show our adverts again to people who have already visited. This is commonly called retargeting.
What that means for you
These tools are provided by Google and by Meta, who process the information on their own servers, which are outside Malaysia, and under their own privacy terms. We do not send them your name, phone number or email address. If you would rather not take part, you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, use your browser's private mode, or adjust the advertising settings in your Google and Facebook accounts. The website works normally either way.
Information about children
This website is written for parents and adults, not for children. We do not knowingly collect information directly from a child. Where a form asks about a child's year or school stream, we expect a parent or guardian to be the one providing it, and we use it only to show you the right part of the programme.
Other websites and services
This policy covers only this website. Where we link to another website, or where you continue a conversation on WhatsApp, that other party's own privacy policy applies to what happens there. We have no control over how a third party handles your information.
Your rights
Under the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 you may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, ask us to delete it, or withdraw your consent to us using it. Email hi@onlinelearning.my or use the details on the Contact page, and we will act on it. We may need to confirm who you are before we do.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The version published on this page is the one that applies, so please read it again whenever you visit. Continuing to use this website after a change means you accept the updated policy.
